Bihar Election: Another Day Another Loss For Congress Party

credits-postcardnews

After waving the flag of victory in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi, the ever young Congress prince had planned a two-day private retreat in Jaisalmer. After all, he worked so hard in Bihar; organized rallies day and night gave media interviews, did all the strategy planning, and conducted party meetings as well as seat-sharing negotiations. He deserves a break, right? But the people of Bihar gave him a strong blow. Post the staggering defeat, when his vacation plan was leaked to the media the holiday canceled! Even Former US President Barack Obama has written in his memoir that Rahul Gandhi neither had the talent nor the passion to excel in the field of politics.

But why do all the people say like this about Rahul that he is a nice guy but in the wrong line of work?
He has been trying since so many years....he has been trying. But the media too doesn't support him, people do not understand him. Even after being beaten down by the government, the citizens do not go anywhere near him. When will Rahul’s “acche din” arrive? In today's article we will get to know that how far Congress is responsible for the crumbling defeat of the “Mahagathbandhan” And where else has Congress been responsible for such accidents? And why despite being re-launched multiple times, 50 –year old Rahul Gandhi fails to take off? When will this political exile end?

Let’s begin with Bihar elections and the defeat of Mahagathbandhan. The strike rate of JDU suffering from 15 years of anti-incumbency i.e its success rate has been 37%. BJP’s strike rate while climbing new heights of development reached 67%. NDA’s overall strike has been 51% and off course they only  formed the government.

On the other side, the strike rate of Congress party who considers BJP to be its main opposition, its main rival was 27%. It is a matter of shame that RJD’s price Tejaswi Yadav who is almost 20 years younger than Rahul Gandhi has double the strike rate than Congress. Left whose existence has been reduced to almost nothing, which has no money, media, muscle power or social media, their strike rate has been 55% only because of staying connected to the masses. Overall, the strike rate of Mahagathbandhan was 45% and because of merely 5-10 seats, they could not win. Victory slipped from their hands, but if Congress’s performance would have been even a little better than 19/70, then today it would have been Mahagathbandhan forming the government.

                POST ELECTION EFFECTS

Agitated by the result, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury whom you might not know but he is Congress’ Lok Sabha leader. He said, “This won’t do, just won’t do! Owaisi of AIMIM took 5 of our seats. He has split our secular vote”..
On one side, the left has taken away the vote of the poor from Congress and on another side; Owaisi takes away the secular vote of the Muslims from Congress. Such grave injustice is being meted out to Rahulji....very bad! Owaisi ji also gave a blunt reply that Muslim vote is not Congress’s property! You should first look into your own home. They should sort their own affairs first. "Your party leadership is totally incompetent. And may I say with a lot of respect to you, your leadership is politically impotent to take on Narendra Modi."

We could have actually forgotten this very soon if Congress would have won from someplace else. But no, bad news from there too! It wasn’t only Bihar election results that were declared on 10th November. Bypolls were conducted in 11 states on almost 60 seats. BJP won more than 40 seats. They pulled 30 from Congress, From MP and Gujarat only 26 seats went from Congress to BJP. This is right, I agree to this that there has been a lot of politics going on in this election. Candidates were exchanged, It was a game of money as well. But this keeps happening in politics and if you want to remain in the game, only the sharp can cut the sharp off. But the supporters of Congress, the supporters of Rahul say that Rahul wants to win through goodwill, Love over hate - It is a nice thing, very good! Our ancestors did not just fight the fight of independence based on merely good thinking but they also worked for it. They came onto the streets to fight for it. Indira Gandhi too was resisted by a small opposition but it was done quite vocally by actually coming down to the roads and protesting whereas, the Congress leadership especially Rahul Gandhi thinks that let’s revolt through Twitter only. On the other side, where revolution is actually needed i.e a new leadership in the Congress, a new election system in the Congress is not being done by anyone.

CONDITION OF CONGRESS IN OTHER                                     ELECTIONS

Consequently, as a result, Bihar is neither the first state where Congress has lost its vote nor is it the last.
Take UP as an example- In 2017, Congress contested on 114 seats in UP’s Mahagathbandhan  and how much did they win? A total of 7! Wins and losses are a part of politics but it is unlikely that anyone would have lost with such consistency and margin in 70 years of our history.
Consider 2016! Congress contested for 41 seats in Tamil Nadu in an alliance with DMK and how much did they win? Just 8! Consequently, AIDMK broke the trend of the alternate party winning (i.e after every five-year term, a new party used to form the government) and came back to power.
Everyone knows the condition of Congress in Maharashtra. They contested without NCP in 2014...solo...The strike rate was 14%., It is because of NCP today that they are in power. In Punjab, only because of the face value of Capt Amrinder Singh Congress today is in power.
In 2019, the JMM-Congress alliance came to power in Jharkhand but even there, Congress is a sleeping partner only they doesn't do much!

 SAD TRUTH OF CONGRESS NOWADAYS

Since 2014 till today, the party has been limping only. Today, the scenario is such that even though Rahul is Wayanad’s MP but looking at how things work, it looks like he is the Party President- He takes the decision, he takes the credit. But if there is any goof up , he says, “ Why are you telling Rahul? He is merely an MP” Even after so many blows, neither has Congress tried to form a grass-root organisation nor establish a social media presence. People who speak in the party have been controlled or have been thrown out and to speak on behalf of the party.

Now, whatever Rahul Gandhi’s or Congress’ supporters might say to you, fact is fact that in two years not even once has Congress won one assembly election on its own. It could have won Haryana but Rahul and Sonia Gandhi let the opportunity slip by reacting late. The party automatically started collapsing due to infighting and escape happening in every other place.

At times, MP’s government is collapsing, other times the Rajasthan government is shaking. But even now the Gandhi family is not willing to leave the Chair. When 23 Congress leaders said in a letter that a change is needed in the party, election and a new system are needed then what did Sonia Gandhi do? She cut the wings of those who wrote the letter first.

                           CONCLUSION

The Congress party is trying to fulfil the slogan of “Congress Mukt Bharat” (Congress-free India) raised by BJP with its entire might. See, next year there will be elections in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala and the condition of the party is such that no one knows who the official leader of the party is. Congress doesn’t even know what its ideological stand is, Rahul doesn’t know on which issue should he fight with the government and on which he shouldn't, See, in a democracy, the one in power tries to become more powerful. That's the way the cookie crumbles! This is an essential and a very important role of the opposition in a democracy. Rahul Gandhi and Congress have been so unsuccessful in doing so and it seems that neither they nor the common citizen will get to see “ache din” (good days) because until the opposition doesn't rise, the people's voice will not rise as well and the government will do whatever it pleases.
